Halloween Happenings

Halloween is almost here and we're trying to be festive...

Madeline & I carved a pumpkin--we call him one eyed Willy, as Madeline delightfully poked one of his eyes out. Both the girls, (and Nato & I), love watching the Jack-o-lantern in the dark. It's soooo spoooooky!
For the first time ever, I roasted (and burned) some pumpkin seeds. Everyone tried some, but no one really enjoyed them.
We visited an awesome pumpkin patch in Morgan Hill, highlights included a carosel ride,a mini trade ride, wandering around the patch with Madeline in a huge orange wheelbarrow, rockin' out to the band, meeting a live scarecrow, and a photoshoot with Amelie & the pumpkins (we didn't really get a great shot due to the wiggling, squirming, rolling, and many attempts to taste the dirty pumpkins...mmmm yummy!)
Of course, we picked out costumes for/with the girls! Amelie was fairly easy, and I'm savoring this time of executive decision making power. She is Tinkerbell and is just absolutely adorable in her costume! (Actually, it's just about too small now. I CANNOT believe how long and pudgy she is!) Madeline's costume was a bit of a battle. Of course she couldn't be convinced to be anything other than a dragon...The same dragon, in fact, that she dressed as last year! Old Navy made the same costume twice, just changing the color from green and purple to red and blue...I guess they did that for kids like Madeline! I'm vowing never to shop at Old Navy for Halloween costumes again! (I can just imagine a closet full of multi-colored dragon costumes!)

Now we're just waiting for Friday, Madeline has been wanting to trick-or-treat daily. I can't wait for all that candy! yum.
